ABOUT THE COMPANY

In 1998, CURE International, in cooperation with the African Inland Church, opened the AIC-CURE International Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya. Along with being CURE’s first hospital, CURE Kenya was Africa’s first orthopedic pediatric teaching hospital for children with disabilities. The 30-bed hospital provides care for children suffering from a wide range of orthopedic conditions, such as clubfoot, burn contractures, osteomyelitis, and other acquired or congenital conditions. The hospital also conducts mobile clinics to identify children in remote areas who can be treated at the hospital and to provide follow-up care for those who have received surgery.
Located in the Rift Valley city of Kijabe, the hospital attracts patients from every region of the country. Through the training of surgeons, nurses, and healthcare professionals, CURE Kenya aims to improve the country’s overall capacity to treat disabled children.

JOB SUMMARY

RequirementsBachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required.Current and active license as a Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent, preferred.Minimum of seven (7) years related experience in supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions of a small to medium-sized organization.International organization experience preferred, but not required.Non-profit experience preferred, but not required.Internal auditing experience preferred, but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Review and Documentation:Provide accounting support to Hospital Controllers.Review hospitals’ financial transactions and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness in Odoo.Implement and monitor fraud detection measures to safeguard financial integrity.Cash Advances and Accounts Receivable Monitoring:Oversee cash advances to ensure timely liquidation.Monitor accounts receivables to ensure timely debt collection.Account Reconciliation:Ensure all hospital accounts are properly reconciled including AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Prepaids, etc.Monitor hospital liabilities to ensure timely and accurate payments.Month-End and Year-End Closing:Collaborate with Hospital Controllers to complete month-end closing procedures according to the agreed timeline.Implement and follow the month-end and year-end checklists.On-Site Support:Travel to hospitals as needed to provide on-site financial support and resolve issues.Visit each assigned hospital at least twice a year for support and oversight.Internal Audit Support:Assist Hospital Controllers in implementing internal audit recommendations.Help finance teams develop schedules to fully implement audit recommendations.External Audit Support:Support Hospital Controllers during external audits.Review and verify audit reports and management letters.Treasury Management:Work with Hospital Controllers to coordinate cash management processes, including revenue collection, disbursement control, shortfall coverage, cash forecasting, and idle funds investment.Prepare cash forecasts and monitor cash flow to maintain appropriate operating cash balances in line with CURE International guidelines.Support for International Accounting Director:Assist the International Accounting Director with various assignments.Prepare reports on assigned tasks.
