JOB SUMMARY

Establish, lead and operationalise the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) function within a telecommunications software development environment by designing test strategies, implementing quality governance frameworks and executing comprehensive manual and automated testing to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure and aligned to business and network operational requirements.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related fieldMinimum 5+ years’ experience in Software Quality AssuranceMinimum 3+ years’ experience in IT project environmentsStrong working knowledge of SDLC, testing methodologies and hybrid Agile/Waterfall modelsHands-on experience in both manual and automated testingExperience in non-functional testing (performance, load, security)Professional Certifications (Preferred / Advantage)ISTQB (Foundation/Advanced) or equivalentCSTE / CSQA / CAST / CMSQAgile-related certifications (CSM, PMI-ACP, Agile PM) – AdvantageExperience and SkillsExperience testing APIs, microservices integration-heavy systemsExposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworksStrong understanding of database validation and data integrity testingAbility to define process from scratch and influence cross-functional stakeholdersStrong analytical and documentation skillsHigh ownership mindset and ability to work in an evolving structureStrong communication and reporting skillsExperience working within telecommunications, networking systems, OSS/BSS platforms or distributed systems environments will be an advantageAttributesClient focused, relationship builderIntegrity, honesty with high ethical standardsBoundless, passionate and flexiblePersonnel excellence, accuracy and attention to detailCollaborative, achieve results through teamwork and partnershipsExcellent English written and verbal communication skillsPassion for technology and innovationAbility to work under pressure, multi-task and think creativelyEfficient time management, fast learner in a fast-paced dynamic environmentA willingness to mentor, coach and train others

RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Strategy and GovernanceEstablish and institutionalize the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) framework, policies, standards, templates and governance structuresDefine and implement end-to-end testing processes aligned to SDLC practices in a hybrid (non-fully Agile) development environmentDevelop and maintain test strategies, quality gates, test readiness criteria and release quality benchmarksCreate reusable testing templates, documentation standards, defect workflows and reporting structuresDefine quality metrics and dashboards to track defect density, regression stability, release readiness and risk exposureTest Planning and ExecutionReview and validate business and technical requirements to ensure completeness, clarity and testabilityDevelop detailed test plans, test scenarios, manual and automated test cases and test data strategiesEnsure requirement traceability through structured traceability matricesEstablish and manage test environments (test beds) supporting white-box and black-box testingExecute functional, integration, regression, system and user acceptance support testingLead non-functional testing including performance, load, security, resilience and usability testing for telecom-grade systemsAutomation and ToolingIdentify and implement appropriate test management and automation toolsDesign and develop automated test scripts for regression and critical workflowsIntroduce CI/CD quality validation checkpoints where applicableEnsure balanced adoption of manual and automation testing approachesDefect and Release ManagementLog, track, prioritise and drive resolution of defects through structured defect lifecycle managementConduct root cause analysis on recurring issues and recommend preventive controlsSupport release planning with risk assessments and quality sign-off recommendationsConduct post-deployment sanity checks and regression validationCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with developers, product owners, network engineers and operations teams to embed quality throughout the lifecycleChampion quality culture and advocate for early defect detection (shift-left testing)Support gradual transition toward structured Agile/Scrum practices where applicableProvide mentorship and guidance on testing standards to development teamsContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to automate repetitive validation tasksContinuously refine QA processes in line with telecom reliability and service availability standardsParticipate in IT process improvement and quality governance initiatives
