POSITION PURPOSE:
The IT Techno-Functional Manager – SAP is responsible for leading the planning, design, implementation and management of the SAP systems, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical solutions. The role bridges functional and technical aspects of SAP, drives system optimization, integration, technical governance performance and provides strategic guidance to support business objectives and digital transformation initiatives while managing a team of functional and technical experts.
JOB ROLES AND EXPECTATIONS
Key Result Area Key Roles / Duties
SAP Configuration, Customization & Integration
1. Lead the implementation and configuration of complete SAP suit including the management of any custom developments to meet business needs.
2. Integrate technical and functional expertise to create a comprehensive solution for complex business challenges.
3. Lead the design, optimization and maintenance of SAP systems to ensure stability, scalability and compliance with SAP standards.
4. Deliver SAP Projects across all phases from requirements gathering, design, go live and post implementation support.
5. Provide strong functional and technical expertise including debugging, performance tuning and troubleshooting complex issues.
6. Proactively identify, trouble shoot and resolve system issues to minimize business disruptions and ensure continuous system reliability.
7. Identify improvement opportunities by working closely with business stakeholders to understand existing processes.
8. Oversee the performance tuning system, upgrades and patches.
9. Conduct SAP solution architecting, design and implement the SAP that aligns with business goals and improves operation efficiency
10. Implement agile practices to enhance project delivery and foster a collaborative work environment
Stakeholder Management, Support & Continuous Improvement
1. Advise business users, provide clear communication, train and provide ongoing support to users
2. Identify opportunities for process improvement, leverage new SAP technologies, and contribute to long-term system and business enhancements.
3. Manage relationships with SAP Vendors, consultants and implementation partners.
4. Review deliverables to ensure quality, cost effectiveness and alignment with business objectives.
SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance
1. Ensure proper SAP access controls, user role design, and segregation of duties in line with internal controls and audit requirements.
2. Support internal and external audits by providing system documentation and compliance evidence.
3. Oversee change management processes to ensure system changes are controlled, documented, and approved.
4. Maintain documentation standards.
5. Ensure timelines and quality standards are met while following SAP best practices and project methodologies.
6. Monitor system performance post go live.
Data Migration, Management & Reporting
1. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and governance of SAP master data.
2. Support data migration activities during implementations and upgrades.
3. Collaborate with business teams to enhance reporting capabilities and ensure reliable business intelligence outputs.
4. Design and develop a robust data migration strategy to ensure seamless business continuity with no data loss from the legacy systems.
5. coordinate the optimisation of data models for efficient and accurate reporting including management of dashboards.
Integrations:
1. Ensure a robust, scalable integration interface of the SAP with external systems such as TAX Systems in the various countries, CRM systems, Banking planforms etc with a plug and plug configuration.
2. Ensure seamless integration between the implemented SAP and other internal systems through secure and interface management.
3. Manage and configure middles solutions such as API Gateways and ESB tools
4. Monitor message processes, error handling and reprocessing mechanisms with alerts.
5. Optimise performance and ensure high availability of the integration platforms
6. Design and implement Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integration for vendors and clients.

MINIMUM QUALITIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, a postgraduate qualification in Computer Science is preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP roles, covering both functional and technical responsibilities with at least one full cycle implementation
- Proficiency in SAP systems and modules in SD, MM, PP, FI, QM and SAP, SuccessFactors (HR), along with experience in data analytics
- Use and implementation of HANA databases
- Strong knowledge of Uganda tax regulations and EFRIS integration and reporting
- Project implementation using the ASAP or SAP activate SAP implementation frameworks.
- Excellent communication, Leadership, and organizational skills
- SAP certification or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science will be considered an added advantage
- Experience in network infrastructure, Cloud Hosting environment, the pharmaceutical industry will be an added advantage
