Junior Application and Data Security Engineer

The Information Security Officer (Junior) supports the implementation and maintenance of the organisation’s information security program. Working under the guidance of senior security personnel, the role assists in protecting systems, applications, and data by implementing security controls, supporting compliance initiatives, identifying vulnerabilities, and promoting secure development practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field is relevant
  
• Cybersecurity work experience 1-3 years
  
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, eCPPT, eJPT, PNPT, GIAC, S-DPP are a plus.communication, and teamwork skills
  
• Exposure to cybersecurity labs, projects, or tools is an added advantage
  
• Exposure to System audit and ISO27001 and similar standard implementations is an added advantage
  

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring security controls under supervision
  
• Support vulnerability scanning, assessments, and basic risk identification
  
• Assist in security audits, DPIAs, compliance, and documentation updates
  
• Support incident reporting and basic incident response activities
  
• Collaborate with development and operations teams on DevSecOps and secure coding practices
