Junior Data Scientist

About The Junior Data Scientist Position
In this role, you will help the signal processing team evaluate new ideas quickly and rigorously. The position is designed for someone with solid coding skills and a practical data science foundation who can implement, test, and document ideas proposed by internal and external stakeholders. Deep domain expertise is not required, but curiosity, structure, and good collaboration are essential.
Key Responsibilities

• Implement, test, and benchmark ideas on AFM force-curve data.
• Build reproducible scripts, notebooks, and evaluation pipelines for fast experimentation.
• Collaborate with the signal processing team to clarify assumptions and results.
• Document experiments, results, and recommendations in a clear and structured way.
• Contribute to maintainable Python code running in Linux and containerized environments.
  

Must-have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, engineering, physics, or another quantitative field.
• Solid Python programming skills and good software engineering habits.
• Understanding of core data science concepts such as data handling, model evaluation, and experimental comparison
• Ability to run structured experiments and communicate results clearly.
• Comfort collaborating with people from different technical backgrounds.
• Strong written and spoken English.
  

Nice To Have

• Some intuition for physics, signal processing, or applied mathematics.
• Familiarity with common Python data science frameworks such as PyTorch or Tensorflow.
• Experience with Git, Linux, Docker, or similar development tooling.
• Exposure to medical data or health-tech environments.
• German language skills.
