ABOUT THE COMPANY
Kenya Private Sector Alliance is the apex body for private sector in Kenya. KEPSA brings together local and foreign business associations, federations, chambers of commerce, professional bodies, corporates including multinationals, large and medium-sized corporates, SMEs and start-ups from all sectors of the economy, representing over 1 million businesses locally and over 45million businesses globally through the membership of ICC-Kenya Chapter. We enable these businesses to speak with one voice when engaging Government, development partners and other stakeholders on cross-cutting policy issues affecting private sector development and we implement programs that ensure the social-economic development of the country including women and youth empowerment.
KEPSA serves as a federation of over 80 Associations and professional bodies. In the EAC region, KEPSA serves as the national focal point of the East African Business Council and engages closely with peer apex bodies in the EAC region to resolve any emerging business issues as well as to promote trade and investment.

KEPSA brings together local and foreign business associations, federations, chambers of commerce, professional bodies that are sectoral umbrella bodies and individual sectoral business membership organizations, corporates, from multinationals to large and medium- sized companies, SMEs, and start-ups from all sectors of the economy, across all parts of the country. This gives KEPSA a reach of over 2 million businesses directly and indirectly. KEPSA also serves as the national focal point of the East Africa Business Council (EABC), the umbrella body of businesses in East Africa. RESPONSIBILITIES
Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Legal Intern to support our Policy and Research work This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in legislative processes, stakeholder engagement, and legal research within Kenya’s private sector policy environment. Key ResponsibilitiesThe Legal Intern will work under the guidance of the Policy and Research Manager and support in:Parliamentary EngagementCoordinating participation in Parliamentary Departmental Committee meetings, leadership meetings, and ParliamentSupporting public participation on key private sector bills and amendment acts (e.g., Finance Bill, Statute Law Miscellaneous Amendments).Preparing fortnightly reports to parliamentary leaders on bills being tracked and KEPSA inputs.Legislative Monitoring & ReportingUpdating members on proceedings in both houses of Parliament, focusing on legislative agendas impacting the private sector.Publishing weekly calendars of parliamentary activities.Reviewing bills under consideration and preparing legislative bulletins highlighting stages, areas of interest, and potential impacts.Tracking progress of bills, proposed amendments, and scheduled tabling dates. Policy Research & Advocacy SupportReviewing bills and policies discussed by sector boards, drafting memoranda, and incorporating feedback for submission to parliamentary committees or ministries.Attending parliamentary committee sittings, sector board meetings, and ministerial forums to deepen understanding of legal and policy issues.Judiciary EngagementSupporting coordination of Judiciary Round Table meetings.Assisting in training initiatives for courts on private sector perspectives in judicial processes.· Governance and Legal Supporto Coordinate activities of the Governance and Leadership Board Committee.o Provide general legal support, including review of Memoranda of Understanding with partners and related documentation.QualificationsCurrently pursuing or recently completed a Law degree (LLB).Strong interest in policy, legislation, and private sector advocacy.Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.Strong communication and organizational skills.
