- Prepare machines for operation at the start of each shift, including cleaning, lubrication, and calibration
- Load raw materials or parts into the machine according to specifications
- Adjust machine settings (speed, pressure, temperature, etc.) based on production requirements
- Operate machinery continuously to meet daily production targets
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and safety
- Monitor machine cycles and ensure smooth running without interruptions
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards
- Identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations and take corrective action
- Separate defective products and report issues to the supervisor
- Continuously observe machine performance (noise, vibration, output levels)
- Record production data such as output quantity, downtime, and rejects
- Report any abnormalities, breakdowns, or safety concerns immediately
- Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve minor mechanical issues
- Assist maintenance teams in diagnosing and repairing machine faults
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and part replacement
- Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety regulations
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Ensure machines are operated within safe limits and report hazards promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and surrounding areas
- Ensure tools and materials are stored properly after use
- Follow 5S or workplace organization standards where applicable
- Work closely with supervisors and fellow operators to meet production goals
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate machine status clearly
- Support other team members when needed
- Minimize machine downtime through proactive monitoring
- Suggest improvements to enhance production efficiency
- Ensure optimal use of materials to reduce waste
- Training certification from NYS (National Youth Service) or NITA (National Industrial Training Authority)
- Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing environment is an added advantage
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines
- Good physical condition and stamina (ability to stand for long hours)
