MACHINE OPERATOR
Job summary
The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. The role requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve basic machine-related issues.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Operate production machines according to established procedures and production schedules.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure consistent production output.
- Set up, adjust, and calibrate machines to meet production requirements.
- Load raw materials and ensure proper machine feeding during production.
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and machine performance.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards.
- Identify defects, inconsistencies, or production issues and take corrective action where necessary.
- Follow quality control procedures and maintain product specifications.
- Report any quality concerns to the supervisor or relevant department.
- Perform routine checks and basic preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Identify and report machine faults, breakdowns, and unusual operating conditions.
- Assist maintenance teams during repairs and servicing activities.
- Ensure machines are kept clean and operate in optimal condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Operate machinery safely and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with company policies, production standards, and operational procedures.
- Work closely with production teams to achieve daily manufacturing targets.
- Communicate machine performance issues and production updates to supervisors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from NYS or a reputable institution
- 1–2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a tissue manufacturing company will be an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of machine operations, production processes, and equipment handling
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
