About the Organization

DIRA HR Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a mission-driven international non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening community wellbeing and supporting individuals through life-changing health experiences.

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Mizizi & Amplify Program Lead to provide leadership and coordination for community-based programs in Kenya.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of program execution, people leadership, systems development, and community impact. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality program delivery, strengthening facilitator systems, managing program documentation, and supporting alumni engagement while collaborating with both local and global teams.

Role Purpose

The Mizizi & Amplify Program Lead will be responsible for the strong, consistent execution of the Client’s Mizizi workshops — the grassroots, community-based workshops in Kenya — and Amplify, the Client’s peer facilitator training and development model. This role will oversee Mizizi workshop execution, Amplify implementation in Kenya, facilitator systems, program documentation, and alumni engagement. The role will have an initial focus on Kenya, with potential to support future adaptation of Mizizi in South Africa and other regions.

This is a hands-on program coordination and leadership role, not a regional strategy role. The successful candidate will be a strong operator, team lead, and communicator who can translate program vision into clear systems, support facilitators, manage moving parts, and ensure that what happens on the ground reflects the Client’s values and participant-centred approach.

The role reports to the Senior U.S. Global Programs Manager once that position is filled, with interim reporting to the Client’s leadership as needed. The successful candidate will work closely with the Kenya Country Manager and Kenya Senior Program & Operations Coordinator.

In the first year, the key priorities are Mizizi workshop execution, Mizizi Manual refinement, and facilitator management. Alumni programming and Amplify expansion will grow with capacity and funding.

Key Responsibilities

Mizizi Workshop Execution
  • Work with the Kenya Country Manager to support workshop location planning and receive partner handoffs once local relationships or opportunities are established.

  • Own the end-to-end execution of Mizizi workshops once locations and partner priorities are confirmed, including preparation timelines, site visits, delivery coordination, on-site logistics, facilitator readiness, follow-up, and data capture.

  • Directly manage the Mizizi Training & Lead Facilitator in their workshop-related responsibilities, ensuring facilitator preparation, in-room facilitation leadership, debriefs, and issue-handling plans are clear and aligned with the client’s standards.

  • Serve as the primary on-site coordination lead for Mizizi workshops until additional program coordination support is funded and hired.

  • Manage day-of operational logistics, including room setup, materials, participant flow, partner coordination, schedule management, and real-time troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate with the Kenya Senior Program & Operations Coordinator to ensure budgets, financial requests, receipts, and expense tracking systems are followed accurately and on time.

  • Ensure each workshop has clear roles, strong preparation, and a shared plan for handling issues that need additional support or senior input.

  • Ensure structured debriefs happen after each workshop and that learnings are captured and applied to future delivery.

  • Document and surface program quality concerns, delivery gaps, and facilitator performance issues to the Senior Global Programs Manager, ensuring that on-the-ground observations translate into program improvement and inform funder reporting.

Program Documentation & Scalable Systems
  • Lead the refinement of the Mizizi Manual as a core priority, ensuring it reflects the current workshop model and is clear enough to support consistent delivery and future adaptation in another location.

  • Strengthen related facilitator-facing materials, such as workshop agendas, facilitator preparation guides, role guides, debrief tools, and scripts.

  • Strengthen process documentation needed for consistent delivery, including site visit preparation, partner handoffs, workshop setup, participant flow, follow-up, and debrief documentation.

  • Work with the Senior Global Programs Manager, CEO, and Mizizi facilitation team to ensure curriculum updates, facilitation practices, and delivery standards are documented and aligned with global best practices.

Facilitator Systems & Lead Facilitator Management
  • Directly manage the Mizizi Training & Lead Facilitator, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and follow-through.

  • Ensure the Mizizi Training & Lead Facilitator is leading facilitator preparation, workshop readiness, in-room facilitation support, and debrief processes in alignment with Client’s standards.

  • Hold accountability for Kenya facilitator systems, including facilitator tracking, readiness, feedback, growth pathways, relationship management, and performance documentation.

  • Clarify and maintain facilitator relationship systems so communication, support, feedback, and accountability are held by the right team members and connected back to Amplify.

  • Surface concerns related to facilitator performance, role clarity, capacity, or delivery quality to the Senior Global Programs Manager and/or Kenya Country Manager as appropriate.

Amplify Execution in Kenya
  • Lead the Kenya-based execution of Amplify across Mizizi and Ignite facilitator pathways, in alignment with Client’s global Amplify strategy and curriculum.

  • Work closely with the Senior Global Programs Manager to ensure Kenya facilitator systems are aligned with Client’s broader global model while remaining practical for local delivery.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Program & Operations Coordinator, Kenya where Amplify intersects with Ignite, virtual programs, budgets, participant coordination, or facilitator tracking.

  • Support the adaptation and practical deployment of Amplify tools for Mizizi facilitators, ensuring materials are clear, usable, and connected to actual workshop delivery.

  • Ensure Amplify-related timelines, preparation, follow-up, and documentation are coordinated and communicated clearly.

Alumni Engagement
  • Lead the structure and execution of Kenya alumni engagement connected to Mizizi and related programming. Global or virtual alumni strategy is held at the client level; this role focuses on local connection, continued learning, and community building within Kenya.

  • Partner with the Mizizi Training & Lead Facilitator, Senior Program & Operations Coordinator, Kenya, and other team members to create realistic opportunities for alumni connection, continued learning, and community building.

  • Ensure alumni activities are aligned with the Client’s values, available capacity, and broader program pathway.

  • Capture alumni insights, needs, and stories in ways that can inform program improvement, local engagement, and future resource development.

  • Ensure alumni engagement is thoughtfully connected to facilitator growth, community leadership, and local program sustainability where appropriate.

Strategic Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Cross-Border & Team Alignment: Serve as the central communication link to ensure seamless local execution and global alignment. This involves coordinating cross-functionally with the Kenyan team to streamline operations and collaborating closely with the U.S. team to translate global vision into clear on-the-ground action.

Decision Rights

The Mizizi & Amplify Program Lead holds decision-making authority over:

  • Mizizi workshop execution planning after location and partner priorities are approved, including delivery timelines, preparation processes, team readiness, site visit coordination, and execution details.

  • Local program coordination systems, workshop readiness, debrief processes, and follow-through.

  • Day-to-day supervision, accountability, and role clarity for direct reports.

  • Facilitator readiness systems, debrief structures, and performance tracking processes in Kenya, in alignment with Client’s global Amplify model.

  • Documentation processes for Mizizi Manual updates, SOPs, scripts, and delivery tools.

  • Ensuring workshop lead assignments and facilitation readiness are confirmed in advance, in coordination with the Mizizi Training and Lead Facilitator.

The Mizizi & Amplify Program Lead makes recommendations to the Senior Global Programs Manager and/or Kenya Country Manager on:

  • Annual or quarterly Mizizi workshop plans, including proposed number of workshops, locations, sequencing, facilitator capacity, and delivery feasibility.

  • Staffing needs, local program capacity, and facilitator pipeline needs.

  • Significant changes to Mizizi delivery structure, facilitator systems, local alumni programming, or Amplify implementation in Kenya.

  • Curriculum or delivery gaps that require CEO, Senior Global Programs Manager, or global curriculum input.

  • Escalations involving program quality, team performance, partners, participants, safeguarding concerns, or reputational risk.

  • Opportunities to strengthen local program delivery or improve alignment with Client’s broader model.

  • Opportunities to support South Africa adaptation or future regional expansion.

The following remain with Client’s global leadership and/or the Kenya Country Manager as appropriate:

  • Major personnel decisions, compensation decisions, and budget decisions above defined thresholds.

  • Curriculum vision, strategic program direction, and major shifts in Client’s program model.

  • Local fundraising strategy, external positioning, funder commitments, and formal partnership decisions.

  • Final decisions about major partner commitments, new regions, or significant expansion of Mizizi beyond approved strategy and budget.

  • Sensitive escalations involving staff, partners, participants, or organizational risk.

If local program systems or delivery are not working as expected, accountability for identifying the issue, synthesizing the implications, and bringing a clear recommendation forward sits with the Mizizi & Amplify Program Lead.

Qualifications & Experience Required
  • Experience coordinating or leading programs within a nonprofit, NGO, health, community-based, or social impact organization.

  • Proven ability to manage program logistics, timelines, people, and follow-through in a complex environment.

  • Experience managing or supporting facilitators, volunteers, frontline staff, contractors, or program delivery teams.

  • Strong people management skills, including setting expectations, coaching, accountability, and performance follow-up.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn rough program knowledge into clear documentation, manuals, SOPs, scripts, and tools.

  • Strong operational judgment and comfort working in resource-constrained, evolving environments.

  • High emotional intelligence, empathy, and cultural humility in community-based settings.

  • Exposure to program scaling, replication, or documentation for geographic expansion.
