REPORTS TO: Study Coordinator

LOCATION: KISUMU.

Project Objective:

The MYTHIC project will compare HIV-1 reservoir characteristics and dynamics in PWH/TB (on/off ART) to PWH without TB, assess the impact of TB disease on HIV-1 latency reversal, and characterize the antibody susceptibility of the HIV-1 reservoir Envs.

Position Objective:

The Data Manager will oversee data collection, entry, quality assurance, and reporting to ensure that study data are accurate, secure, and consistent with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and study protocols. He/she will be responsible for monitoring study progress, developing dashboards, analyzing data, troubleshoot data related problems, and ensure data security and integrity in accordance with GCP guidelines, the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, and the study protocol.

Duties and Responsibilities

2. 1. Participate in the study data management process and documentation in line with the
   

study SOP.

• Create and enforce policies for effective data management.
  
• Monitor and analyse information and data systems,
  
• Writing weekly, Monthly and Quarterly study reports, analysis and mining of study data advice and promote best practices in monitoring and evaluation.
  
• Troubleshoot data related problems, and ensure data security and integrity.
  
• Evaluate study data for protocol compliances and development of study related SOPs
  
• Aggregate and clean data using standard Data Quality Audit (DQA) approaches.
  
• Backing up data routinely and ensuring data security and confidentiality
  
• Develop and maintain databases back up and filing systems for projects data
  
• Building skills and capacity of study staff and facility health care workers in data management and use of data for program improvement and sustainability
  
• Ensure quality management of study data through execution of regular data quality audits, an onsite data verification exercise, and mentorship.
  
• Respond to data queries as requested.

 Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experiences:

• 
  
• The applicant should be a holder of a Bachelor of Science in bio/statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
  
• 2 years’ experience in data management using RedCap and/or ODK will be an added advantage.
  
• Must have 3 years of research experience.
  
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis
  
• Experience working with Stata or R in data analysis will be an added advantage.
  
• Proficient in Excel in generating and analyzing study reports
  
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
  
• A career interest in HIV/TB research and training is strongly preferred.
  
• Strong analytic, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
