Role Purpose
Talent Grid Africa on behalf of their client in the healthcare industry is hiring an Optometrist. The Optometrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision testing, diagnosis of visual disorders, and pre/post-operative support for ophthalmic procedures. The role requires a patient-focused professional aligned with the company’s commitment to high-quality, accessible healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
• Diagnose refractive errors and prescribe corrective lenses
• Detect and manage common eye conditions (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, infections)
• Support ophthalmologists in pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical standards
• Operate and maintain optometric equipment and diagnostic tools
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless patient care
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory requirements

Key Requirements
✓ Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry (B.Optom or equivalent); Master’s Degree is an added advantage
✓ Valid professional license to practice in Tanzania
✓ Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
✓ Experience working with ophthalmologists or in surgical care environments is preferred
✓ Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in optometry
