- Operations Management: Manage the daily operations of the packhouse, including sorting, grading, packing, and dispatching avocados to meet quality and production targets.
- Supplier and Farmer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and farmers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality produce.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate packhouse staff to meet performance and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the avocados meet export quality standards through inspections, temperature control, and proper handling during loading.
- Ensure adherence to Global GAP, SMETA, and EU Organic certifications by maintaining traceability, regulatory compliance, and detailed documentation.
- Maintenance Oversight: Ensure that all machinery and equipment within the plant are properly maintained and functioning optimally.
- Process Optimization: Utilize analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
- Inventory Management: Monitor packing materials and supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels to avoid interruptions.
- Reporting: Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and annual reports on operational performance, productivity, and quality metrics to the Operations Manager and Director.
- Health & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, fostering a safe work environment.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve disputes in accordance with company employment and disciplinary codes.
