Long Chain Construction Chemicals Ltd. (LCC) is a growing company specializing in paints, coatings, construction materials and construction chemicals.
As we expand our paint manufacturing and technical operations, we are seeking an experienced Paint Colour Matcher / Tinting Technician with strong practical expertise in paint colour matching, tinting, formulation adjustment and colour quality control.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently, accurately reproduce target colours and troubleshoot practical colour-related problems during laboratory preparation and production.
JOB SUMMARY
The Paint Colour Matcher / Tinting Technician will be responsible for matching, developing and adjusting paint colours to meet customer requirements and established colour standards.
The role will involve working with pigments, colourants and tinting systems, preparing laboratory samples and colour panels, adjusting formulations and ensuring consistent colour quality across production batches.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring excellent colour perception, attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Colour Matching & Tinting
• Accurately match customer colours, standard colours and reference samples.
• Perform colour matching using colour cards, customer samples and reference panels.
• Prepare and adjust paint colours to achieve the required shade and colour strength.
• Work with tinting pastes, pigments, colourants and colour systems.
• Ensure colour matches meet required quality standards before production or release.
2. Colour Formulation & Laboratory Work
• Develop, maintain and update colour formulations.
• Prepare laboratory paint samples and colour panels for evaluation.
• Record and maintain accurate formulation information.
• Conduct colour trials and make necessary formulation adjustments.
• Support the development of new and improved colour shades.
• Maintain proper records of pigments, colourants, formulations and colour adjustments.
3. Production Colour Control
• Adjust colours during production to achieve the required specification.
• Monitor batch-to-batch colour consistency.
• Compare production batches against approved colour standards and reference panels.
• Identify colour deviations and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Work closely with production personnel to ensure consistent colour quality.
4. Troubleshooting & Quality Control
• Investigate and correct common paint-colour problems, including:
• Colour differences and shade variations
• Floating
• Flooding
• Poor pigment dispersion
• Uneven colour development
• Batch-to-batch colour inconsistency
• Identify possible causes of colour deviations and implement practical corrective measures.
• Support quality-control activities relating to colour and appearance.
• Ensure finished products meet the required colour specifications.
5. Technical & Production Support
• Work closely with the Production, Quality Control and Technical teams.
• Provide technical input on colour formulation and tinting requirements.
• Support production teams in resolving colour-related issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized and controlled colour-matching work area.
• Follow established production, quality and safety procedures.
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
• Previous practical experience in paint, coatings or building-material manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years of practical paint colour-matching experience is preferred.
• Hands-on experience matching interior and exterior water-based paints.
• Proven ability to independently match colours using colour cards, customer samples and reference panels.
• Good knowledge of:
• Pigments
• Colourants
• Tinting pastes
• Colour systems
• Paint formulations
• Pigment dispersion
• Ability to prepare laboratory samples and colour panels.
• Ability to adjust colour formulations accurately.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot common colour problems.
• Paint-production experience will be an added advantage.
• Strong colour perception and attention to detail.
• Good practical and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet production requirements.

Priority will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in:

The successful candidate must be more than someone who has basic tinting experience.
