About the Company


The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing the complete payroll cycle, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with statutory, tax, and labor regulations. The role also supports HR operations by maintaining employee records, administering employee benefits, preparing payroll reports, and ensuring compliance with all employment legislation and company policies.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing the complete payroll cycle, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with statutory, tax, and labor regulations.


Responsibilities


Payroll Administration

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate salary processing.
  • Process monthly payroll, including salaries, overtime, commissions, bonuses, allowances, deductions, leave pay, terminal dues, and statutory payments.
  • Prepare and file all statutory deductions accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
  • Validate payroll inputs and ensure payroll accuracy before processing.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
  • Calculate and process final dues, including leave encashment, gratuity, severance pay, notice pay, and statutory deductions where applicable.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Respond to statutory audits and compliance inquiries.


HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS.
  • Administer employee benefits and deductions.
  • Prepare employment letters related to payroll, including payslips.
  • Update employee information in payroll and HR systems.
  • Support HR compliance and documentation.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is an added advantage.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body is desirable.


Required Skills


  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years' experience managing end-to-end payroll.
  • Demonstrated experience processing payroll for medium to large organizations.
  • Experience filing statutory deductions and preparing payroll reconciliations.
  • Experience using payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Experience supporting HR administration functions.


Preferred Skills


  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and HR information systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and reporting.
  • Strong payroll reconciliation and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of employment and labor legislation.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
