We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Pharmaceutical Technologist to join our hospital team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate dispensing of medications in line with prescriptions and hospital policies.
- Stock control and inventory management, including monitoring expiry dates and proper storage conditions
- Patient counseling on medication use, dosage, possible side effects, and adherence
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory, professional, and safety standards
- Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and completeness and seeking clarification from prescribers where necessary
- Maintaining proper documentation and records of dispensed medications and controlled drugs
- Participating in procurement processes, including ordering and receiving pharmaceutical supplies
- Monitoring and reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors
- Supporting implementation of infection prevention and control measures within the pharmacy
- Ensuring proper storage of medicines in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Assisting in the preparation and compounding of medications where required
- Conducting regular stock audits and reconciliations
Key Requirements:
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting.
- Must be enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) with a valid practicing license
- Good knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, dispensing, and inventory management
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and excellent interpersonal skills
