Job Description/Requirements
We seek to recruit a Pharmacist Superintendent. This position reports to the Medical Director. The job holder will be the head of pharmaceutical services and will be responsible for providing quality and efficient pharmaceutical services that are efficient, safe, and cost effective that meets the needs of patients would like to fill the positions
Duties & Responsibilities
It shall include but not limited to;
1. Identify prescriptions that might present risks to patients and to resolve relevant issues before dispensing
2. Provide pharmaceutical services throughout the hospital by maintaining proficiency by dispensing prescription drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
3. Participate in pharmacy operations and medication dispensing by collaborating with the Procurement department in facilitating specialty medication procurement, ordering, and dispensing procedures
4. Consulting with the physicians for identifying the pharmaceutical needs of the hospital evidence based clinical practice
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
• Must be registered with a valid practice license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya. Must be holders of superintendency license or are eligible
• Must have a valid membership with the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK)
• Minimum of 3 years post registration working experience in a busy Pharmacy/pharmaceutical outlet
• Hospital experience will be an added advantage
