KEY ROLES
Advise patients and provide excellent customer service.
Dispense prescriptions precisely
Manage inventory
Manage sales and revenue effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide advice for non-prescription medications
Oversee sale of prescribed medicines to our clients and generate revenue by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, removing outdated drugs
Maintains records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.
Maintain internal and external safeguards regarding storage and dispensing of pharmacy products by complying with procedures, protocols, rules, and regulations.
Maintain detailed, meticulous records of all use of medicnes, especially of controlled substances
Helps and patients by greeting them in person, answering questions and requests
Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the work-station by dusting and vacuuming, washing the windows and doors, and straightening the merchandise
Preparing sales reports on a daily basis
Monitor drugs and other medical supplies levels and initiate the procurement process.
Establish and maintain good relationships with customers
Monitor storage conditions i.e. expiry status and security of the pharmaceuticals
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND BEHAVIOR TRAITS:
Customer Service Skills: You will constantly be speaking with patients and other healthcare professionals. Therefore, you will need to be a good listener and speak to clients in a pleasant and cheerful way
Attention to Detail: Filling a prescription incorrectly can lead to patient harm, customer safety is key
Organization and management: You will have several responsibilities, and a great pharmacy technologist should be able to balance their duties to customers with other important administrative duties
Ability to work for long hours
Must have high integrity
Must be self-disciplined and capable of taking instructions
Possess efficient Management skills
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Be a holder of Degree/Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons board (PPB)
Vast pharmaceutical products knowledge
At least two years’ working experience in a busy retail pharmacy environment
Knowledge of computer packages will be an added advantage.
Expected Salary
SALARY RANGE BETWEEN NET KSH. 50,000 TO NET KSH. 60,000
