JOB SUMMARY
The Plant Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing various mechanical systems and equipment within the factory to ensure smooth and efficient production operations. The role involves conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing mechanical faults, replacing worn or defective components, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and reliably while minimizing downtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspecting machines regularly and ensure proper functioning of machines and systems.Diagnosis and fixing malfunctioning equipmentInstalling new equipment's or systems in the factoryPerform light lathe work, including machining, turning, drilling, threading, and fabrication Ensuring work complies with safety standards and regulationsDocumenting maintenance works, repairs and inspectionsCollaborate with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.Replace defective parts and ensure proper functioning of equipment.Sound knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Knowledge in OSH is an added advantageBasic electrical knowledge
REQUIRED SKILLS
Metal cutting, Welding, Machining (drilling, grinding, turning, etc.), Troubleshooting, Technical writing
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Diploma, Associate's degree
