About the Role We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Production Manager to lead our Raw Materials Section, Pulp Processing, and Peeling operations.

The Production Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of production to meet volume, quality, and cost targets.

You will drive a culture of excellence, ensuring strict adherence to food safety standards (BRCGS), optimizing operational efficiency, and developing your team of supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Production Planning

• Develop and execute daily/weekly production schedules for Raw Materials, Pulp, and Peeling lines to meet sales orders and inventory targets.

• Effectively allocate manpower, materials, and machinery to achieve production goals.

• Monitor the entire production process in real-time, anticipating bottlenecks and implementing immediate corrective actions.

• Take full accountability for meeting daily output targets for volume, variety, and quality.

2. Team Leadership & Departmental Oversight

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to Section Heads (Raw Materials, Pulp, and Peeling).

• Lead daily production meetings to communicate priorities, review performance, and address challenges.

• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance on the shop floor.

3. Quality, Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to GMP, SOPs, and SSOPs across all production areas.

• Collaborate with the QA team to ensure all in-process quality checks are performed and documented.

• Maintain impeccable hygiene standards in preparation for daily inspections and external audits (BRCGS).

• Champion a "Quality at Source" mindset and promote a strong food safety and quality culture.

4. Cost Control & Efficiency

• Monitor and control the cost of production, optimizing raw material usage and labor productivity.

• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including yield, throughput, and machine efficiency.

• Drive initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.

5. Logistics & Warehouse Management

• Oversee the Finished Goods warehouse and dispatch operations.

• Ensure accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of finished goods while maintaining strict FIFO principles.

6. Maintenance & Safety

• Coordinate with the Engineering department to prioritize planned and breakdown maintenance with minimal production disruption.

• Promote a "Zero Incident" safety culture, ensuring all staff are trained on safe work procedures and that incidents are reported and investigated.

• Maintain full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a food processing or FMCG environment.

• Proven experience in managing production budgets, KPIs, and driving efficiency improvements.

• Strong practical knowledge and experience of GMP, BRCGS, HACCP principles, and food safety standards (experience with BRCGS is a distinct advantage).

• Hands-on experience in fruit processing (pulp, drying) technologies.

• Experience with ERP systems for production planning and inventory management.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing supervisory staff.
