JOB SUMMARY

Job Purpose: We are urgently seeking for a Production Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing daily bread manufacturing operations, including mixing, proofing, baking, slicing, packaging, and dispatch preparation. The role ensures production targets, product quality, food safety standards, and operational efficiency are consistently achieved.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related fieldMinimum of 3–5 years’ experience in food manufacturing or bakery productionPrior supervisory experience in an FMCG environment is an added advantageWorking ConditionsFactory-based role with exposure to heat, noise, and flour dustRequires standing for extended periodsInvolves light lifting (up to 5 kg)Requires flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidaysKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Production efficiency and achievement of output targetsConsistency in product quality and adherence to standardsReduction of waste, rejects, and production lossesEquipment uptime and minimal unplanned downtimeStaff productivity and performance managementCompliance with health, safety, and hygiene standardsAccuracy in packaging, dispatch, and order fulfillment

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities1. Production Planning & SchedulingDevelop and implement daily production plans based on demand forecastsPlan dough batching and baking schedulesEnsure availability of raw and packaging materialsMonitor output to meet production targetsCoordinate with procurement and stores to avoid shortages2. Team Leadership & SupervisionSupervise production staff (mixers, bakers, packers, loaders, etc.)Assign duties and monitor shift performanceTrain, coach, and guide team membersEnsure smooth shift handoversPromote discipline, teamwork, and productivity3. Production OperationsOversee all stages: mixing, proofing, baking, cooling, slicing, and packagingEnsure adherence to recipes and process standardsMonitor dough consistency, proofing conditions, and oven temperaturesMaintain efficient production flow4. Quality Control & Food SafetyEnsure products meet quality and regulatory standardsMonitor weight, texture, appearance, and packagingEnforce hygiene and food safety proceduresInvestigate and resolve quality issues5. Packaging & DispatchSupervise slicing, packaging, and labelingEnsure correct sealing, dating, and labelingEnforce FIFO principlesCoordinate dispatch and verify quantities6. Equipment ManagementMonitor machinery performance (mixers, ovens, slicers, etc.)Report faults and coordinate maintenanceSupport preventive maintenance schedulesEnsure safe and proper machine usage7. Training & DevelopmentTrain new staff on operations and safetyConduct refresher training sessionsIdentify skill gaps and recommend improvements8. Continuous ImprovementIdentify and implement efficiency improvementsAnalyze production data and reduce bottlenecksMinimize waste and product rejectsApply lean manufacturing practices9. Health, Safety & HygieneEnforce workplace safety standardsEnsure PPE usageConduct safety inspectionsMaintain high hygiene standards10.
