Our client has been at the forefront of providing training and consultancy (technical assistance) for the financial sectors in Africa and beyond for almost 30 years. They deliver innovative, smart and practical solutions to strengthen global social, economic and environmental sustainability. Some of their main clients are IFC, EBRD, EC, KfW, GIZ, World Bank, AfDB and ADB as well as commercial banks and non-bank financial institutions.


Role Summary

For their strongly growing portfolio, they are looking for a Project Coordinator (f/m/x) with experience in ESG/ESMS, Climate and Green finance, Gender finance and/or Digital Finance. The initial contract is for 24 months, renewable based on performance.


Responsibilities

● Support the acquisition process for development finance projects, including the identification of consulting opportunities, preparation of high-quality expressions of interest and technical proposals, expert recruitment, and other related activities

● Coordinate the implementation of sustainable development projects and support the project management in on-going projects (regular exchanges project experts and partners, drafting project reports, reviewing and approving contracts, participation in meetings and events)

● Undertake short term missions to contribute to project success (feasibility studies, training assistance or other technical contributions)

● Continuously research on new opportunities and changes in the ESG/ESMS climate and green finance, gender finance and digital finance fields

● Use social media and other platforms to promote our work


Qualifications

● University degree, preferably at Masters’ level, in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking, or related field or equivalent professional experience;

● Sufficient relevant working experience, preferable in commercial banks or other financial consultancy firms (3-5 years);

● Experience in ESG/ESMS, climate and green finance, gender finance and digital finance in an advisory and/or operational capacity;

● Interest in working in finance sector advisory projects in emerging and developing markets;

● Highly motivated, dynamic and flexible to work in a multicultural, fast-paced work environment

● Experience in offering technical expertise and assistance to partner institutions

● Fluent in Business English; good knowledge of French, Portuguese or another foreign language would be an important asset

● Commitment to take over responsibility and proactively contribute to business outcomes

● Strong interpersonal, organizational, writing and communication skills, including ability to coordinate activities with several (high level) stakeholders

● Strong analytical and planning skills and ability to apply innovative approaches at work

● Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines

● Professional experience with Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
