Project Finance & Modelling Analyst

Overview:

Inuka is working with a renewable energy company to recruit a Project Finance & Modelling Analyst based in Nairobi. This role will support solar and energy storage projects, focusing on financial modelling, pricing, and investment analysis to guide commercial and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain financial models for solar and BESS projects.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis across key variables.
• Support pricing strategies and commercial structuring of projects.
• Perform valuation analysis including IRR, NPV, and cash flow modelling.
• Translate technical project inputs into financial outputs.
• Support lender and client discussions with data-driven insights.
• Analyse operational data to refine assumptions and improve models.
• Conduct market research and support growth and expansion initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 3–6 years of experience in financial modelling, project finance, or investment analysis.
• Strong ability to build complex models from first principles.
• Background in energy, infrastructure, investment banking, or private equity preferred.
• Solid understanding of project finance concepts (IRR, DSCR, cash flows).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
• Degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field.
• Professional certifications (CFA, ACCA, or similar) are an advantage.
