POSITION DETAILS
Job Purpose To ensure proper motor vehicle valuation and assessment, review and approval of reports, training, mentoring and coaching junior officers. Ensure to adhere to policies and procedures of the department and organization as a whole and keeping up with the new technological trends in the market.
Main Responsibilities of the Job
Review and Approval of Valuation Report
• Verify valuation reports for completeness and accuracy before approving.
• Verify the charged price accordingly to ensure no overcharging or undercharging.
• Maintaining of all records being handled at the approval center for future reference.
• Ensure timely review and approval of reports.
• Maintain the updated price lists for reference in approval.
• Re-evaluate disputed initial valuation reports in case of appeal from customers.
• Adhering to quality assurance procedures and work instructions while approving of reports.
Training, coaching and mentoring of junior valuation officer
• Being reference point by junior valuation officer, guiding the team upon consultation.
• Guiding, mentoring and coach the field officers upon identification of weak areas.
• Ensure that Valuation Officers comply with established policies and procedures while submitting reports.
• Carry out Induction of the new staff.
Procedures, policies and work instructions
• Thorough understanding and adhering to department policies, procedures and work instructions
• Participate in giving input to improvements in the department that can enhance efficiency.
• Enforcing the junior officers following documented processes.
Continuous career development and research
• Carrying our research on new technologies in automotive market and applying the same in daily duties.
• Being able to be appointed to run the department on acting capacity in absence of head of department.
• Participating in identified trainings in the company and ensuring full implementation of gained skills.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Academic and Professional Requirements
• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• A member of Institute of professional Engineers.
• At least 3 years practical experience in a busy valuation and insurance company.
• Holder of a clean driving license with at least 2 years driving experience ‘BCE’.
Competencies and Skills
• Good team player with leadership skills.
• Ready to work under minimum supervision.
• Have good report writing/computer skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the vehicle systems and component.
• Self-start and proactive.
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal/customer handling skills.
• High flexibility & excellent time management.
