DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Testing & Inspection
- Conduct routine quality checks on incoming raw materials to ensure they meet specification standards.
- Perform in-process inspections during production to monitor compliance with quality standards.
- Inspect finished goods to verify conformity with product specifications, packaging, and labeling requirements.
- Use standard laboratory equipment and testing methods for quality assessments.
Compliance & Food Safety
- Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP, ISO, and company SOPs.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) during production to prevent contamination and quality deviations.
- Identify and report non-conformities or deviations in raw materials, production processes, or finished goods.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of quality checks, inspection results, and test reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports for management review.
- Assist in audit preparation by providing documented evidence of compliance and quality control activities.
Continuous Improvement Support
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, and rework.
- Support training of production staff on quality and safety standards as needed.
Laboratory & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain and calibrate QC laboratory equipment according to standard procedures.
- Ensure the QC lab is clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a QC role within the food or beverage processing industry.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems (HACCP, ISO, GMP).
- Experience with laboratory testing and inspection procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and quality standards.
- Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Problem-solving and corrective action implementation skills.
