DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the QC team to ensure effective quality control coverage across all production shifts.
- Allocate QC tasks and responsibilities to team members, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
- Train staff on quality standards, food safety protocols, and SOP compliance.
- Foster a culture of quality, safety, and accountability across the production floor.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Oversee routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Ensure adherence to HACCP, ISO, GMP, and company SOPs.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and production processes for compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Review and approve test results, ensuring deviations are identified and corrective actions implemented.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of QC inspections, laboratory tests, and compliance audits.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QC performance reports for management.
- Document non-conformities, corrective actions, and process improvements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary QC documentation and explanations.
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
- Identify areas for improvement in quality processes, product consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and procurement teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor trends in product defects, complaints, or deviations and develop strategies to reduce recurrence.
- Assist in reviewing and updating SOPs, QC protocols, and standard testing methods.
Laboratory & Equipment Oversight
- Ensure QC lab equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning correctly.
- Supervise proper use of testing tools, chemicals, and instruments by QC staff.
- Ensure the lab environment is clean, organized, and meets safety standards.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a QC Officer/Assistant in the food or beverage manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO standards, GMP, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to enforce compliance and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
