Position Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Renewable/Permanent potential)

Compensation: Ksh 40,000 – 50,000 Monthly Retainer + Uncapped GBP-based Commission

The Opportunity

Hurlingham Trade Capital Limited is a UK-incorporated trade finance boutique. We are launching a dedicated "East Africa-UK Trade Corridor" to provide high-growth exporters with the liquidity they need to scale. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, high-integrity Regional Director to spearhead our operations across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

The Role

This is a high-visibility, "Founding-Track" role. You will report directly to the Managing Director based in London, UK, working closely together to vet exporters and facilitate finance against creditworthy UK-based debt.

Your mission: To identify and onboard exporters (specifically in Agri-Business) who are shipping to the UK and Europe, ensuring their growth is never limited by a lack of working capital.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Origination: Source and qualify export-ready firms in the tea, coffee, horticulture, and textile sectors.
• UK-Corridor Specialization: Focus 100% on trade bound for the UK to leverage our London-based financing structures.
• Due Diligence & KYC: Conduct "boots on the ground" verification, site visits to packhouses/farms, and ensure adherence to UK/EU import standards.
• Relationship Management: Act as the primary regional liaison for exporters and local financial institutions.

Requirements

• Regional Expertise: Minimum 3+ years in Trade Finance, Banking, or Export Logistics within the EAC (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, or Tanzania).
• Export Knowledge: Deep understanding of the compliance and logistics involved in shipping perishable goods to the UK/Europe.
• Agri-Business Savvy: Familiarity with seasonal crop cycles and the specific financial pain points of agricultural producers.
• Self-Starter: Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote setup while maintaining daily communication with the London HQ.

Compensation & Growth

• Monthly Retainer: Ksh 40,000 – 50,000.
• Generous Commission: Uncapped earnings paid on every successfully funded deal, calculated in GBP.
• Career Path: This is a 6-month contract designed to transition into a permanent Regional Head role as the corridor scales and the portfolio grows.
