Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of their client in the fashion retail industry is seeking to hire a Sales & Marketing Manager to lead and drive all sales-oriented marketing functions across retail, online, digital, content, and B2B channels. The Sales & Marketing Manager will be responsible for people, performance, and execution, ensuring marketing activities directly translate into
measurable sales outcomes. This role demands active involvement with teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee sales performance across retail stores, digital channels, and B2B/corporate accounts.
• Track, analyze, and report on sales metrics, conversion rates, campaign effectiveness, and
performance indicators.
• Set clear performance targets and regularly review results with teams.
• Align marketing activities, content, and campaigns with sales goals and seasonal priorities.
• Supervise content and influencer activations that enhance customer engagement and drive revenue.
• Ensure consistent brand messaging and presentation across all customer touchpoints.
• Manage and develop multifunction teams including retail sales, digital sales, and content/marketing staff.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action where needed.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of sales and marketing staff.
• Champion an exceptional customer experience across channels and stores.
• Maintain high standards of brand presentation and retail execution.
• Address performance gaps and operational challenges proactively.
• Work closely with Production, Inventory, Finance, and Store Operations to ensure marketing plans align with operational capacities.
• Escalate risks or gaps to senior management for resolution.
Qualifications
✓ 6–8+ years’ experience in sales, marketing, or commercial roles.
✓ Minimum 3 years managing multifunction teams.
✓ Experience in retail, fashion, lifestyle, FMCG, or consumer brand sectors is preferred.
✓ Experience managing retail sales teams, digital/online sales roles, and content/marketing executives.
✓ Ability to set targets, review performance, and take corrective action confidently.
✓ Deep understanding of retail sales dynamics, customer journey, and brand presentation.
✓ Skilled in tracking sales performance, analyzing conversion metrics, and interpreting campaign
results.
✓ Ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Inventory, Finance, and Operations teams.
✓ Confident presenting plans, reporting results, and providing feedback.
