We are seeking a driven and motivated Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and promoting our plant-based food products to both retail and business customers. Retail and food sales experience will be a plus.

OnlyPlants is an East Africa-based company that produces and sells delicious, healthy plant-based food at affordable prices. Our products are made from local ingredients and taste, bake and cook the same as animal products, while providing improved nutritional value and a lower environmental impact.Â
Roles & Responsibilities
Retail Customers
- Represent OnlyPlants at local farmers markets to sell our products and promote our brand, incl. setting up/ breaking down stall, sharing our story with customers, answering questions, processing orders, and accepting payment
- Accept and process direct orders via Whatsapp and social media, incl. coordinating with customers, packaging their orders, and arranging delivery

Business Customers
- Generate new leads and visit prospective business customers to deliver sales pitches
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers by evaluating their needs, answering questions and promoting OnlyPlants products
- Accept customer orders, enter them into the company’s order management system, coordinate delivery, and obtain payment
- Maintain a comprehensive customer database with all key contact details, detailed meeting notes, and specific follow-up items

Organization & Teamwork
- Coordinate with finance and production teams on an ongoing basis
- Work closely with the company’s R&D department by collecting and relaying customer feedback
- Demonstrate consistent ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- Resolve all queries from customers in a timely manner and ensure prompt dispatch of orders

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- At least 2 years of sales/commercial experience
- Drive to seek out new opportunities and convert them to sales
- Friendly demeanor and ability to quickly build rapport with customers
- Self-starter mindset with ability to navigate uncertainty, anticipate problems, and proactively identify solutions
- Highest degree
of honesty and integrity in all dealingsÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swahili and English
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
