Senior Backend Engineer

Our client is a growing, technology-driven organization building scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment. They are looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer who will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems that support the company’s core products and services. This role also provides technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers, maintaining engineering standards and contributing to the continuous improvement of backend architecture and development practices

Key Responsibilities

1. 
   
2. Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
   
3. Own and manage core business logic and system integrations.
   
4. Ensure system performance, security, and reliability across all backend services.
   
5. Review code, enforce engineering standards, and maintain best development practices.
   
6. Mentor and guide junior backend engineers to support their technical growth.
   
7. Support production deployments and troubleshoot incidents when necessary.
   
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new product features and improvements.
   
9. Contribute to system architecture decisions and continuous platform improvements.
   

Required Skills & Experience

1. 
   
2. 2 Years of experience with Laravel/PHP frameworks or similar backend technologies
   
3. Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
   
4. Strong knowledge of database management (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
   
5. Understanding of system security, authentication, and data protection practices.
   
6. Experience with Docker and cloud-based deployments.
   
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
   
8. Active participation or a strong network within developer or programming communities.
   
9. Experience working in fintech or high-scale systems is an added advantage
   
10. Experience working in startup or fast-paced environments is an advantage
    
11. Personal or open-source projects on platforms such as GitHub is an advantage
