Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture

RESPONSIBILITIES / RESULT AREAS 

1. Establishing, implementing and maintain a robust IT Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice to govern technology and business applications integration in order to deliver value to Business and IT. 
   

2. Strategic leadership of the practice areas for Business, Application, Information, Technology, and Security Architecture. 
   

3. Inculcate Security Domain Strategy by playing a key role in defining and implementing the Enterprise Security Architecture. 
   

4. Risk Mitigation by proactive assessment, mitigation, and resolution architecture risks from a Regulatory or Audit perspective. 
   

5. Stakeholder Collaboration by Partnering with other architects to ensure end-to-end integrity of architecture solutions. 
   

6. Continuous improvement, actively champions and contributes to the continuous improvement of the Enterprise Architecture. 
   

7. Establishing and institutionalization of the Enterprise Architecture standards, frameworks, policies, guidelines and practices and their fusion into the architecture domains of business, data, information, applications, and technology, so as to support the development and deployment of business and technology solutions. 
   

8. Implement integrated processes and technology solutions supporting related government Ministries, Department and Agencies, Financial institutions and other stakeholders. 
   

9. Institutes a comprehensive (transparent, secure) and cohesive approach to technology solutions acquisition aligned to the EA that deliver value for money. 
   

10. Enhances the competence of the team through training, mentorship, coaching, in EA discipline and practices. 
    

11. Managing a team of IT professionals (Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and build the skills of your team) and ensuring the structure is optimal for the operations of the section.
    

12. Leading IT Audits and ensure the section is compliant with all technological best practices, laws, and regulations. 
    

13. Reduction of institutional risk (operational risk, cyber security risks, business continuity risks) through prudent IT controls.   
    

14. Overseeing key IT projects and system upgrades to improve infrastructure, security, efficiency, and functionality and ensuring implementations occur on time and within budget.
    

15. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to function (systems, processes and operations) as per the objectives outlined in the IT Service Management framework (ISO 20000) documentation and report regularly to IT Management. 
    

16. Performance Management by mentoring and developing team members and subordinates and setting goals and objectives to help the team excel and advance. 
    

17. Service management and demonstrate the ability to exceed the expectations of customers (internal or external) and prioritize their requirements.
    

18. Any other assigned roles and responsibilities.
    

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE 

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Technology or a related discipline.
   

2. A Master’s level qualification or any other post-graduate qualification in a related discipline will be added advantage.
   

3. A recognized professional certification in Enterprise Architecture - preferably TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Practitioner, Zachman Certified Enterprise Architect or an equivalent vendor-neutral architecture certification is required. 
   

4. Additional certification in cloud architecture, security architecture, IT governance or project management will be an added advantage.
   

YEARS AND NATURE OF EXPERIENCE 

1. At least 10 years’ experience working with large organizations to deliver on a similar scope, three (3) of which must be at a senior leadership position; with demonstrated experience in managing a team of enterprise architects, solution architects and consultants. 
   

2. Demonstrated Banking (or equivalent) Enterprise Architecture experience. 
   

3. Technically competent and able to supervise enterprise architects, solution architects, consultants and external vendor resources. 
   

4. Experience in a variety of application and business architecture areas such as Banking /Telecommunication / Retail Domains.
   

5. Technical competency of solution design – hands on experience of creating high level designs for major projects.
