Overview
We are looking for an SEO Analytics & Reporting Specialist to serve as the architect of our data infrastructure. You will be the bridge between technical data collection and strategic insight. Your primary mission is to ensure that our clients have accurate, reliable data and that our SEO team has the automated visualizations they need to prove ROI. You will move beyond basic reporting to build "One Search" dashboards, debug complex GTM tracking issues, and act as the internal subject matter expert for GA4 and analytics strategy.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM Sydney time with a 30-minute break.
Responsibilities
Analytics Implementation, Configuration & Data Quality
- Configure, maintain, and audit analytics platforms (primarily GA4, but adaptable to Adobe Analytics or others) to ensure accurate and consistent data collection.
- Implement and manage GA4 events, conversions, custom dimensions, and audiences aligned with SEO and business objectives.
- Work with development teams and tag management systems (Google Tag Manager or equivalent) to deploy and maintain robust tracking implementations.
- Audit existing setups to identify tracking gaps, inconsistencies, or incorrect implementations to ensure data reliability for decision-making.
- Adapt reporting approaches based on client tech stacks and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for custom implementations.
Reporting & Template Design (Looker Studio)
- Design, build, and maintain standardized reporting templates (primarily using Looker Studio) for SEO clients.
- Ensure reports are intuitive, visually clear, and usable by SEO specialists with minimal training.
- Translate complex GA4 and SEO data into meaningful insights and clear KPIs.
- Build flexible reporting structures that allow SEO specialists to customize views (e.g., date ranges, page groups) without breaking data integrity.
- Maintain internal documentation and guides explaining how reports should be used and interpreted.
Data Integration & Connectivity
- Connect and manage SEO data sources such as Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, analytics platforms, and keyword tracking tools within reporting environments.
- Create a ‘One Search’ report that combines organic and PPC data to highlight opportunities and identify cannibalization.
- Ensure key metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR, average position) are accurately represented and segmented.
- Align Search Console data with GA4 engagement and conversion metrics to tell a complete SEO performance story.
Keyword Rankings & Performance
- Integrate keyword ranking data from rank tracking tools directly into Looker Studio dashboards.
- Ensure reporting clearly connects ranking improvements to actual business outcomes (revenue/leads) where possible.
- Help define meaningful keyword KPIs for different client types and SEO strategies.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyze GA4, Search Console, and keyword data to identify trends, anomalies, and traffic fluctuations.
- Support strategic SEO decision-making through deep-dive reporting, including purchase journey analysis, funnel exploration, and assisted conversions.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, and scalability across the agency.
Internal Enablement & Collaboration
- Act as the internal GA4 and reporting subject matter expert for the SEO team.
- Diagnose and fix GA4 issues for new clients and complete detailed audits for top-tier Enterprise clients.
- Educate the team on GA4 concepts, metrics, and best practices. Collaborate with SEO specialists to continuously improve dashboards.
Requirements
- Deep proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM). You must be able to debug tags, configure data layers, and troubleshoot cross-domain tracking.
- Advanced skills in Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio), including data blending, calculated fields, and regex.
- Strong understanding of Technical SEO, Google Search Console, and how search data correlates with onsite behavior.
- Ability to diagnose "broken data" (e.g., unassigned traffic, referral spam, missing conversions) and fix it.
- Ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Organizational Requirements:
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the implementation of the company's strategic plan.
- Continuously strive for development by attending webinars, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Responsible for considering, identifying, reporting, and addressing data and operational risks.
- Participate in processes and practices that uphold the company culture, demonstrating our core values in everything that you do.
