SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / MULTIMEDIA SPECIALIST

Futuristic Ltd (“Futuristic”) is an industry leader in providing Systems Development and Integration Services in Kenya and generally in the African continent. Futuristic is seeking to recruit a competent, innovative and result-oriented Software Developer with Multimedia and Digital Content Development capabilities. The successful candidate will report to the Systems Development Services (SDS) Manager and work closely with other ICT professionals on various projects. The candidate will be responsible for participating in the design, development, customization, implementation and maintenance of enterprise digital solutions, particularly web-based and mobile applications, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Content Management Systems (CMS) and digital information display applications. The role will also involve developing, producing and integrating multimedia content, interactive e-learning modules, instructional videos, animations, digital assessments and other technology-enabled learning resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.

· At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience in software development using PHP and/or Java, or equivalent demonstrable systems development experience.

· Practical experience in multimedia production, graphic design, animation, video editing and interactive digital content development.

· A portfolio demonstrating previously developed software applications, multimedia projects or interactive e-learning materials will be highly desirable.

· Professional certifications in software development, LMS technologies, multimedia production, instructional design or ICT security will be an added advantage.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following competencies:

A. Software Development

· Experience in software development using Java and/or PHP, with front-end technologies and frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.

· Experience using web development frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Laravel, Java Spring and equivalent frameworks.

· Working knowledge of database platforms, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle and NoSQL databases.

· Experience in API development and integration using REST/SOAP and OAuth 2.0 implementations.

· Knowledge of LMS functionalities, including user management, course management, learner enrolment, assessments, reporting and certification management.

· Experience integrating LMS platforms with external systems through REST/SOAP APIs and other integration technologies.

· Working knowledge of digital payment platforms, social media APIs and SMS gateway integrations.

· Proficient working knowledge of Android and iOS mobile application development platforms will be an added advantage.

· Experience with digital learning technologies, interactive assessments, learner tracking and analytics will be an added advantage.

B. Multimedia Design and Digital Content Development

· Demonstrable experience in multimedia design and production, including graphic design, video editing, animation and digital content development.

· Proficiency in multimedia production tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Camtasia or equivalent applications.

· Ability to develop interactive e-learning modules incorporating text, graphics, audio, video, animations and interactive learning elements.

· Experience producing instructional videos, animated learning materials, simulations and scenario-based learning content.

· Ability to develop interactive e-learning modules incorporating text, graphics, audio, video, animations and interactive learning elements.

· Experience preparing multimedia storyboards, learning job aids, facilitator guides and learner guides.

· Knowledge of e-learning content packaging and compatibility with Learning Management Systems.

· Understanding of instructional design principles, learning experience design and digital learning methodologies.

· Experience developing microlearning and gamified learning content will be an added advantage.
