DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welding & Fabrication Operations
- Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and Stick welding in accordance with technical drawings and job specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components to meet production and structural standards.
Technical Drawing Interpretation
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to execute fabrication work.
- Verify measurements and material specifications before commencing tasks.
Machine Setup & Equipment Optimization
- Set up welding machines and adjust parameters (voltage, amperage, wire feed, gas flow) for optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate major repairs when necessary.
Quality Assurance & Inspection
- Inspect completed welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and rectify welding defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion.
Maintenance & Workshop Support
- Conduct preventive maintenance on welding equipment and workshop tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety regulations, including proper PPE Usage.
- Ensure safe handling of welding equipment, gases, and flammable materials.
Production Support (Manufacturing Environment Advantage)
- Support fabrication and modification of production-related components and machinery.
- Assist in equipment maintenance and technical problem-solving within the production line.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Provide timely progress updates to supervisors and report equipment issues.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Welder (e.g., AWS, CWB) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Welding Technician.
- Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
- Knowledge of machine setup, feeds, and speeds.
- Experience in a plastic product manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
