LOANS OFFICER
Job summary
We are a Micro Finance company seeking to recruit a Loan Officer who can effectively handle credit function operations
Job descriptions & requirements
o Approve loans within specified limits, and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
o Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
o Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
o Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
o Review and update credit and loan files.
o Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
o Compute payment schedules.
o Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet customers' needs.
o Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation.
o Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
o Confer with underwriters to aid in resolving mortgage application problems.
o Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
o Market bank products to individuals and firms, promoting bank services that may meet customers' needs.
o Set credit policies, credit lines, procedures and standards in conjunction with senior managers.
o Prepare reports to send to customers whose accounts are delinquent, and forward irreconcilable accounts for collector action.
Role Requirements:
o Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Microfinance/Business Administration
o At least 2 years experience in Sales with exposure to micro lending (added advantage)
o Experience in the Banking sector with a bias in micro finance highly desirable
o Knowledge in marketing and credit management for both individual and group clients
o Good communication and interpersonal Skills
o Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
o Team player/thinker
o Able to communicate fluently in both English and Kiswahili and explain complicated concepts to clients.
