Systems Administrator / Control Room Systems Operator

Primary Responsibilities

• Systems installations, fault reporting and systems monitoring to ensure availability through operating cycle.
• Carry out troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of installation to ensure the system is operational at all times.
• Undertake periodic system backups as required and carry our system recovery
• Liaise with the Project Engineer on all matters relating to data capture, archiving and Dissemination.

 

Reporting Line

• Reporting to the Weighbridge Manager. Performance objectives shall be outlined separately.

 

Specific Responsibilities

• At all times, comply with Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
• Responsible for the maintenance of an Operational System.
• Maintain a log of all system occurrences and brief the weighbridge Manager on the same.
• Ensure uninterruptable data capture, storage, archiving and dissemination.
• Provide technical support to the team
• Prepare and maintain a schedule of preventive maintenance for computer hardware.
• Carry out trouble shooting and repairs
• Periodic System back-up.
• Maintain good relationship with service companies that provide repair service to ensure guaranteed timely receipt repair and maintenance services.
• Guide computer users on user protocols
• Take timely appropriate action on system deviations.
• Perform any other duties as will be assigned from time to time

 

Profile

• Shall posses a Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Computer Science.
• Should posses at least a Certified Network Associate qualification (or equivalent) with 3 years hand-on experience in Network Administration or systems Integration in a busy database management environment.
• Shall have proven knowledge on enterprise databases and computer applications.
• Shall have excellent communication skills and fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
• Shall be a person of high integrity.
