A BUYER

1. Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets in compliance to Company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures. 

2. Convert user requirements into actionable orders on SAP to suppliers, either for goods or services. Assuring availability with the right quality, service, cost, and risk. 

3. Ensure safe and timely delivery of ordered materials while ensuring quality and efficiency in the procurement process, resolve conflicts with deliveries and suppliers in terms of invoices. 

4. Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers. 

5. Prepare information on purchase prices and conditions to enable proper budgeting, cash forecasting and forecast variance analysis as needed by Finance team always ensuring adequate communication with vendors. 

6. Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities. 

7. Build, maintain, and manage professional supplier relationships and keep up good communications. 

8. Follow Procurement Polices and guidelines in Supplier Award decisions under the applicable threshold as guided by Procurement Controller 

9. Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations. 

10. Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities. 

11. Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements. 

Minimum requirements / qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management or Business-Related degree plus a Diploma in Purchasing & Supplies 

• Good Computer skills with Intermediate Excel skills/abilities 

• Working knowledge of SAP is a must 

• Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a busy manufacturing environment is an added advantage.

• Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding, and cost breakdown 

• Ability to work in a diverse multicultural environment necessary for success 

• Good communication skills
