Role Description
We are seeking a full-time on-site A La Carte Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Jumba Ruins Monsoon, located in Mombasa County, Kenya. The Executive Sous Chef will be responsible for daily kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring the quality and presentation of all food items. Additional tasks include developing new recipes, maintaining kitchen inventory, adhering to food safety standards, and collaborating with the Executive Chef to enhance the dining experience.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a la carte cooking and seafood preparation
- Proficiency in managing kitchen staff and operations
- Strong skills in developing and executing recipes
- Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant culinary degree or certification preferred
- Previous experience in a international tourist resort restaurant will be considered
