We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Assistant to support our finance operations in a fast-paced, growing organization. The role involves managing reconciliations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls across group entities.
This position is ideal for a motivated finance professional looking to grow their career within a structured yet agile environment, particularly within the fintech space.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full petty cash cycle, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Update and maintain the Fixed Asset Register in line with company policy.
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial records.
- Validate and review transactions captured in the accounting system.
- Perform reconciliations for bank statements, digital wallets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Review daily reconciliation reports and advise on the status of merchant and payment partner balances, rolling reserves, and variances.
- Prepare and share platform reconciliation reports with merchants and payment partners.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes for group entities.
- Assist in preparing documentation and responding to queries during statutory and tax audits.
- Undertake other ad-hoc finance tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of Second Upper Division.
- CPA (K) finalist or ACCA qualified.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment with exposure to end-to-end finance processes, preferably within a group structure.
- Prior experience working with audit firms is an added advantage.
- Experience in a startup or fintech environment will be highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Understanding of internal financial controls and compliance requirements.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, Zoho, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Self-driven, proactive, and committed to staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.
