Job Description Tushop is a venture-backed technology-enabled company operating in Kenya. Our mission is to strengthen the welfare of communities by giving them more value with their groceries. We do so by aggregating communities’ demand for groceries to help them access wholesale prices and provide convenient delivery to end-customers. Additionally, we work with Community Leaders, who earn an additional income for the work that they do in their communities.Key Responsibilities: Manage accounts payable functions, including processing and monitoring vendor payments and reconciling accountsMatching revenue to payment points for the various product revenue categoriesEnsure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations and monthly reconciliation of bank and MPESA accountsUpdate weekly and monthly inflows and outflows records and provide updatesPrepare and file tax returns and statutory deductions and paymentsAssist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsMaintain a fixed asset registry and perform impairment, and pass journals for the same on QuickbooksConduct monthly and annual financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecastingParticipate in internal and external audits and provide support for external auditorsParticipate in stock checks and reconciliation with Warehouse ManagerAnalyze financial information and summarize financial statusSpot errors and suggest ways to continuously improve efficiency and spendingProvide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant The profile we’re likely to hire: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance or AccountingProfessional Accounting Qualification (CPA (K) or ACCA)At least 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, with at least 2 years of handling accounts receivablesExperience using Quickbooks and other Accounting software, and a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their applicationsStrong analytical skills and ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives and opportunitiesAble to demonstrate initiative and ownership of assignments and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence othersHigh level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to effectively and efficiently handle a variety of responsibilitiesAn individual who exemplifies integrity and honestyExperience in the e-commerce, retail, FMCG sectors would be an added advantag
