Location: Nairobi ( few travel to other counties)


Job overview

Our Client in the Agriculture sector is looking to fill the role of an Accountant. The ideal candidate will manage a variety of accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role also involves supporting two sister companies that have minimal operations, mostly on compliance matters.


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing tax returns and ensuring that taxes are paid properly and on time
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Regular bank reconciliation, debtors and creditor accounts.
  • Analyze payments and carry out data analysis to support preparation of accounting reports.
  • Data entry and processing using the set accounting system.
  • General Ledger Management.
  • Writing cheques and posting payments in the cash books
  • Enchasing of cheques and maintaining petty cash.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and recording receipts of payment.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Maintain customers and suppliers’ records for the purpose of payment


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA (K)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Quick Books
  • Strong knowledge and experience on tax matters
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • High Integrity.
  • Flexible to travel in different counties.
