Requirements:  

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum cpa part ii but fully qualified accountant is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance is essential.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills. Good understanding of procurement and inventory management.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-growing sme.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support senior management.

Experience:  

  • 3 to 5 years experience in accounting, preferably within an sme or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience dealing with supermarkets, distributors, or fmcg operations is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with quickbooks accounting software.


Salary:   Kshs. 40,000 - 60,000 plus company benefits


Key responsibilities

Accounting & finance:

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts including cashbooks, ledgers, and journals.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supermarket credit accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and inventory records.
  • Prepare and file statutory returns (vat, paye, withholding tax, nssf, nhif).
  • Support external audits and ensure compliance with kenyan tax and regulatory requirements.


Procurement & inventory support:

  • Source suppliers and manage procurement of raw materials, packaging, and office supplies.
  • Prepare purchase orders and track deliveries and supplier performance.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Support cost control initiatives and pricing analysis.


Administration & office management:

  • Oversee general office administration, documentation, and record keeping.
  • Manage staff payroll records, leave schedules, and hr-related documentation.
  • Coordinate service providers (transporters, utilities, maintenance, insurance).
  • Ensure compliance with food manufacturing and workplace regulations.


Operations & management support:

  • Assist the director with operational planning, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Prepare operational and financial reports for management review.
  • Support process improvements across finance, procurement, and operations.
  • Act as a liaison between finance, production, sales, and external partners.
