Job summary
Our client, a reputable Property Management Agency based in Nairobi, has an exciting career opportunity for a highly talented, skilled, and driven Accountant. The Accountant will maintain records of financial transactions related to the property portfolio and apply best accounting practices in accordance with internationally accepted accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure proper financial records are maintained through regular review of account reconciliations and payment vouchers
- Prepare accounting documents, post transactions, and generate relevant reports
- Collect tenancy fees and commissions and report collections to management
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accurately recorded and posted
- Maintain accurate records and databases of customer payments and property data
- Post customer payments by recording cash, cheques, and credit card transactions in the general ledger or accounting software
Requirements
- At least CPA Section 4; a degree in a business-related field will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of property management accounting and related financial procedures
- Experience working with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Conversant with tax laws (VAT, instalment tax, PAYE, dividend tax, etc.)
- Familiarity with audit practices and requirements, including preparation of audit journals and liaison with auditors
- Experience in bookkeeping practices
