JOB SUMMARY
Minimum QualificationsBachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or PharmD from an accredited universityPostgraduate Qualifications (at least one of the following)Master of Pharmacy (MPharm); Pharmaceutical Management, Industrial PharmacyOR a relevant Master’s degree, such as:MBA (Marketing, Strategic Management, Healthcare Management)MSc. in MarketingMSc. in Health Economics / Health Systems / Pharmaceutical PolicyA PhD is desirable.Professional & Regulatory RequirementsRegistered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of KenyaMeets Commission for University Education (CUE) requirements for adjunct facultyIndustry & Teaching ExperienceDemonstrable experience in pharmaceutical marketing, such as:Medical representative / product manager rolesMarket access, sales strategy, or brand managementRegulatory affairs or pharmacoeconomicsPrior teaching, guest lecturing, or professional training experience is preferredPractical exposure to:Ethical promotion of medicinesPharmacoeconomics and pricingMarket research and product lifecycle management
RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivering high-quality instruction in pharmaceutical marketing and related coursesSupporting student learning through mentorship, supervision, and academic advisingEngaging in research and scholarly activities that contribute to pharmacy practice and educationProviding clinical expertise to support experiential learning and professional developmentPromote and uphold the mission and values of USIU–AfricaTeach and precept pharmacy students at approved clinical sitesParticipate in the Skills Laboratory, including physical assessment trainingProvide Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services at designated clinical sitesCoordinate courses and develop instructional and assessment materialsContribute to the planning, administration, and academic activities of the School of PharmacyOrganize and participate in inter-professional education and training initiativesServe as an academic advisor and mentor to assigned studentsContribute to overall student success, including academic performance, progression, and outcomes
