About Job

We are actively seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. He/ She will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, such as recording financial transactions, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. The successful candidates Must have at least 3 years’ of working experience in a busy environment.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure all financial transactions are carried out and recorded in accordance with IFRS Prepare periodical journal reports while ensuring all monies received are receipted, all system payments are posted and updated. Preparation, submission and ensuring compliance with statutory returns and regulations-Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual returns to KRA and other bodies as may be required from time to time. Accuracy and completeness of monthly bank reconciliations. Maintain and reconcile petty cash per the approved petty cash policy Timely correspondences with the banks especially on bank balance confirmation, opening bank accounts and updating bank mandates. Preparation and maintenance of Fixed assets register. Preparing EFT and RTGS files and uploading in the bank system. Assist in preparation of financial statements for audit and preparation of audit file. Payroll and Statutory Management Any other duty as may be assigned by the management from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

Must have a bachelor’s degree in finance / Accounting. A Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage. A clear understanding and demonstration of key accounting processes with a minimum of 3 years of working experience with ERP systems. Excellent MS Excel skills. Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills A professional, with personal ethical standards An eye for detail and the ability to work accurately with great self-drive. Motivated, with a positive attitude and eager to learn continuously. Must be committed to work, ready to take responsibility and work with minimal supervision. Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
