Job Title: Assistant Manager, Security Operations Center (SOC)

General Purpose:
The Assistant Manager, Security Operations Center (SOC) plays a critical role in ensuring the operational integrity and effectiveness of the SOC. This position supports the Assistant Director by supervising daily SOC activities, managing personnel, and maintaining the highest standards of security monitoring and incident response. The Assistant Manager ensures that all SOC functions - surveillance, threat detection, incident escalation, and emergency coordination - are executed seamlessly and in compliance with Company standards and regulatory requirements. Acting as a bridge between leadership and frontline operators, this role drives operational excellence, fosters team development, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, including technology optimization and process enhancement
Essential Duties & Tasks:
· Supervise SOC Operators, ensuring adherence to established protocols and performance standards.
· Oversee real-time monitoring of CCTV, alarms, and access control systems; ensure timely incident escalation.
· Coordinate emergency response actions, including evacuation or lockdown procedures during critical events.
· Manage shift schedules, resource allocation, and ensure proper post coverage.
· Review and validate incident reports, logs, and operational documentation for accuracy and compliance.
· Conduct regular audits of SOC systems and recommend improvements for efficiency and security posture.
· Liaise with internal teams and external agencies (law enforcement, emergency services) during incidents.
· Support implementation of SOC policies, procedures, and training programs.
· Mentor and coach SOC staff to maintain high operational standards and readiness.
· Assist in technology upgrades, system maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure operational continuity.
· Participate in drills, simulations, and compliance reviews to strengthen emergency preparedness.
· Generate reports, dashboards, and metrics for SOC operations and client communications.
· Maintain detailed records to support compliance and audit requirements.
Qualifications / Experience:
· Required: Bachelor’s degree in security, information-security, risk management, or related field.
· Preferred: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
· Preferred: Systems Security Certified Practitioner
· Required: Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in Security, Crisis Management, or Cyber Security
· Required: Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in Security Operations Center
· Required: Minimum 2 years’ Security Operations Center experience in a Maximum-Security Environment
· Preferred: 2 years experience working on Genetec and Mission Control
· Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to supervise and motivate SOC staff.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence in interacting with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
· Self-starter with strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities to manage complex situations under pressure.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in reporting and documentation.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with SOC software platforms.
· Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing operational demands.
· Maintains discretion, professionalism, and strict confidentiality in handling sensitive security information.
· Experience in monitoring performance metrics, maintaining SLAs, and driving continuous improvement.
· Solid understanding of incident management, escalation protocols, and emergency response best practices.
· Knowledge of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring) and operational troubleshooting.
