Responsibilities:
● Assist Production Manager in overseeing all aspects of cotton cultivation and ginning operations.
● Develop and implement plans to ensure timely planting, harvesting, and ginning of cotton.
● Monitor crop growth, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
● Oversee daily ginning operations, ensuring smooth running and optimal cotton fiber quality.
● Manage and motivate farm and ginning crews, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
● Maintain accurate records of production data, including yields, ginning output, and quality control metrics.
● Liaise with growers, gin operators, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
● Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness in cotton production and ginning.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field (preferred).
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in cotton production or ginning operations.
● Strong understanding of cotton cultivation practices, including planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
● Working knowledge of ginning machinery and processes.
● Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse teams.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, data analysis software).
