JOB SUMMARY

The Board Treasurer provides financial oversight and expertise to ensure AkiliDada's financial sustainability, integrity, and regulatory compliance. This role isessential as the organization scales its operations and strengthens its governancestructures to support long-term impact across Akili Dada’s programs and strategicpriorities.Required Qualifications and ExperienceProfessional qualification in finance, accounting, audit, or related field (CPA,ACCA, or equivalent)Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial management,preferably within the non-profit sectorStrong understanding of non-profit financial management, compliance, andreporting requirementsProven experience with organizational risk management and internal controlsAn understanding of girls' education, women's economic empowerment, orleadership development sectors is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

Chair the Finance Committee and provide strategic oversight on financialgovernanceEnsure the board fulfills its fiduciary responsibilities and maintains robustfinancial oversight mechanismsReview and present quarterly financial reports to the board, highlighting keytrends and governance implicationsLead board review and approval of the annual budget and financial policiesOversee the annual audit process and ensure compliance with all regulatory andgovernance requirementsLead board-level risk assessment and oversight, ensuring effective riskmanagement frameworks are in placeProvide strategic guidance on financial sustainability and long-term planningAdvise the board on resource allocation decisions aligned with strategicprioritiesAdvise the board on resource allocation decisions aligned with strategicpriorities, programmatic performance, and learning.
