We are a retail and wholesale trader dealing in education, located in Kisumu. The ideal candidate must be a power user of QuickBooks and possess experience of the KRA iTax portal and filing.

The Opportunity
This is a role for a "doer"—someone who enjoys the precision of balancing books and the discipline of tax compliance. You will own the full bookkeeping cycle for the Company, moving from raw data entry to the preparation of final trial balances and management reports and filing of statutory returns.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Bookkeeping: Manage the full accounting cycle including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger maintenance.
QuickBooks Management: Perform daily transaction coding, bank reconciliations, and inventory tracking. Ensure the Chart of Accounts is accurately structured for each specific client industry.
Statutory Filings (iTax): Independently prepare and file monthly returns including VAT, PAYE, and Withholding Tax. Handle the generation of ETR/eTIMS compliant invoices.
Payroll Processing: Manage monthly payroll, including the calculation of statutory deductions (NSSF, NHIF/SHIF, Housing Levy) and generating payslips.
Financial Reporting: Generate monthly Management Accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) and aging reports (AR/AP) to provide clients with clear visibility into their cash flow.
Audit Readiness: Maintain a "permanent audit file" for clients, ensuring all physical and digital supporting documents (invoices, receipts, bank statements) are filed systematically.
Qualifications & Experience
Professional Background: Minimum of CPA Part 2 or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is an added advantage.
Software Expertise: Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience using QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) in a professional or busy commercial environment.
Tax Proficiency: Proven track record of navigating the iTax portal and filing various tax obligations accurately and on time.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of Kenyan Tax Laws and the recent eTIMS requirements.
Skills:Advanced Quickbooks and Excel skills .High level of speed and accuracy in data entry.Ability to troubleshoot reconciliation discrepancies independently.
