BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Job summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new market opportunities, expanding the customer base, strengthening strategic partnerships, and increasing revenue. The role develops and executes business development strategies, enhances market penetration, and works closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to achieve sustainable business growth and strengthen the company's market position.

- Develop and implement business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and strategic partnerships.
- Prepare and execute sales growth plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and corporate accounts.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding existing customer portfolios.
- Support the sales team in negotiating major contracts and closing high-value business opportunities.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Monitor retail pricing, product positioning, and market dynamics to support competitive decision-making.
- Provide market intelligence and business insights to support strategic planning.
- Monitor business development performance against established revenue and growth targets.
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business performance reports for management.
- Recommend initiatives to improve customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and operations teams to support business objectives.
- Represent the organization during client meetings, industry events, and business networking opportunities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development are an added advantage.
- Minimum of four (4) years experience in business development, sales, or marketing.
- Proven experience developing and implementing successful sales and business growth strategies.
- Experience within the FMCG or manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
