Business Development Officer – Institutional & Corporate Sales
Job summary
Our client in hygiene products, detergents, and related consumables is seeking to hire a Business Development Officer (BDO) to drive new business acquisition within the institutional and corporate segment. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the BDO will focus on prospecting, onboarding, and closing new institutional clients, while progressively supporting account growth and retention.

Contract Type: Full-time | Performance-based (Retainer + Commission)
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
· Identify, prospect, and engage potential institutional and corporate clients through structured outreach and field visits.
· Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and sampling.
· Develop and maintain a qualified B2B sales pipeline.
· Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within approved frameworks.
· Close new supply agreements and onboard corporate clients.
Market Access & Relationship Management:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, and administrators.
· Serve as the primary point of contact during onboarding and early-stage account management.
Coordination & Execution:
· Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and service.
· Provide market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback to management.
· Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline records.
Reporting & Performance Management:
· Submit weekly activity and pipeline reports.
· Track sales performance against agreed KPIs.
· Forecast expected closures and revenue inflows.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
· Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in B2B or institutional sales (FMCG, cleaning supplies, hospitality, or related sectors preferred).
· Demonstrated ability to engage corporate decision-makers and close deals.
· Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
· Valid driving license preferred.
